Choosing the Right Windows for your Project

Different types of windows create different aesthetics, performance and functionality for your home.

The beauty of window design is that you don’t have to choose new replacement windows in the same style or material that you already have in your home.

Lots of homeowners in Newark, Kings Lynn and Rutland are choosing to upgrade their homes, and replacing old PVCu windows with modern, Anthracite Grey aluminium windows.

Others in Cambridge and Peterborough are keeping PVCu but opting for premium PVCu products, with flush sash window design, foil colours and specialist glass designs. If you like the traditional look, which is really popular in Lincolnshire villages, timber windows are a winner.

Types of Windows: Material Options and Benefits

  • Perfect for a ‘Grand Designs’ feel

Timber Windows

A classic choice, especially for Georgian town houses, Victorian Villas and country cottages. We offer timber windows in Engineered Redwood, Grandis Hardwood, European Oak and Accoya®, the low-maintenance, sustainable timber option.

If you really like the timber-look, but prefer a more low-maintenance option, or your budget won’t stretch to timber, our PVCu flush casement and sliding sash windows are perfect. Beautifully manufactured, with a stunning choice of woodgrain foils, no-one would ever know they were PVCu! Plus, there’s the added benefit of no sanding, repainting or re-staining – just a wipe down with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water will keep them looking as good as new!

Types of Windows: Styles

Casement windows – the classic type of window opening style, available in both side-hung and top-hung designs.

French Casement Windows – side-hung casement, in a similar style to French doors, where both sashes open, without leaving a central post.

Tilt & Turn Windows – the tilt function offers easy, secure ventilation to the home, the turn function makes it safe and easy to clean from inside.

Fully Reversible Windows – perfect for multi-storey properties and inaccessible locations – windows rotate 180 degrees for easy cleaning.

Sliding Sash Windows – classic sliding opening style, great for controlling ventilation, popular on Georgian townhouses and 19th century terraced homes.

Bay & Bow Windows – made popular by the Victorians, bay windows normally have 3 openings, and bow windows have 4 or 5 for a more rounded shape.

Bespoke Glass Styling

We’re the glass experts, so you can choose from a full range of glass styles for your windows.

Obscured glass is perfect for privacy, whilst still letting in natural light. It’s a great choice for downstairs loos, bathrooms and shower rooms.

If you live on a busy road, you may want to consider acoustic glass to help block out traffic noise.

Laminated glass adds extra safety and security to homes. If the glass is shattered, it holds in place, so your property remains secure.

For a really personalised window design, we offer bespoke decorative glass designs, including etched glass and coloured glass options.
