To some, doors may just be a way to get in and out of a property, but at Safeguard, we think a little bit differently. There are so many types of door available if you are thinking of upgrading your home, and we offer a full range of designs to create a bespoke entrance to your home.

We can help you smarten up your kerb appeal with a new front door or make it easier to access your garden with patio doors. We can boost the security of your home with Secured by Design options and help get rid of draughts and cold spots with a new thermally efficient door replacement.

Here’s a quick run down of the types of doors you can choose from the Safeguard range.

What Types of Doors Are Available?

Single Doors – Front entrance doors and back doors

Single doors are the most common door types on properties in the East Midlands. Most of us have a single entrance door to the front of our home, and a back door leading from the kitchen at the back or side of the house.

These are the most frequently used entrances in our homes, so all of our doors are engineered to be robust and low-maintenance, giving a secure entrance to your home for years to come.

Door Types: Composite Doors

Composite doors incorporate a Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) subframe with a PU foam core, encapsulated in reinforced GRP skin to offer optimum strength and warmth for your home.

There are a huge range of door styles to choose from, as well as more than 50 colour options from the standard palette and the additional option of any RAL colour on special order.

You can choose bespoke decorative glass designs and there’s a selection of hardware in different forms and finishes to make the entrance to your home completely personalised to your property and your tastes.

Composite doors are a really popular choice with homeowners in Rutland and Oakham, where trending colours include Chartwell Green and Anthracite Grey, as well as the ever-popular Red, Black and White.

Door Types: Aluminium

For more simple style, choose our aluminium single entrance doors. They’re the perfect replacement for a porch door, or for a side or back door.

Aluminium doors have slimmer sightlines, for cleaner aesthetics and they can be half or fully glazed to let in lots of extra light, so they’re perfect if you have a dark kitchen.

The high-strength of aluminium also means that it can be used to manufacture a larger door, so if you have an over-sized entrance, but don’t want double doors, talk to our team about aluminium entrance doors.

Patio Doors – Doors leading into the garden

Once the front of the house is sorted, it’s on to the back! There are so many options for you to create easier access onto your deck, patio or lawn.

Door Types: Bi-folding Doors

Aluminium bi-folding doors open in a folding concertina style, they’re sometimes called sliding folding doors.

Bi-fold doors have grown to be one of the most sought-after home improvement products. Homeowners love being able to fold the doors away to create a large opening between the home and the garden.

We’ve been installing lots of bi-folds in homes across Stamford and South Lincolnshire, especially in properties that have fantastic garden views to enjoy. They’re also great for adding to kitchen or living room extensions to let in lots of natural light into new spaces.

Door Types: Sliding Doors

Sliding doors are another really popular option for people who want to open their homes up to the garden.

Our aluminium sliding doors have stunning wide-span glazed areas, to make the most of any natural sunlight and create beautiful, modern living spaces.

You can choose 2, 3 or 4 sliding door panels, in sizes up to 3 metres tall x 3 metres wide, for a stunning ‘wall of glass’ effect.

The modern engineering makes them really easy to operate too – there’s no more tugging and struggling with your old patio door, choose a smooth-glide aluminium door replacement!

Door Types: French Doors

French doors are the classic option for more traditional living spaces – you may already have them leading off from your living or dining room.

We install aluminium French doors in homes in Cambridge and Newark, where homeowners are looking to replace old timber or PVCu French doors. They can open out into the garden or in to the house, depending on how much space you have.

In terms of design, the aluminium frames can be powder-coated any RAL colour to match your other doors and windows.

Secure Doors

One of the top reasons for replacing doors is to improve security in the home. All of the door types we offer feature high-security multi-point locking and anti-bump, anti-drill and anti-pick locking cylinders. We also offer a great range of door hardware, including Kubu Smart hardware. The Kubu system allows you to check the status of your door at any time and from anywhere, for added peace of mind.

The systems we use are tested to PAS 24 standards – a set of tests that determine the security of doors and windows. They are also available with Secured by Design certification – the official police security initiative.
