What Has Changed?
The revised regulations focus on reducing heat loss and improving overall building efficiency. The main updates include:
- Lower U-values for windows and doors –
New installations must achieve improved thermal performance to reduce energy consumption.- Replacement windows: maximum U-value of 1.4 W/m²K
- Doors (with > 60% glazed area): maximum U-value of 1.4 W/m²K
- Doors (with < 60% glazed area): maximum U-value of 1.0 W/m²K
- Better airtightness and insulation –
Products must be designed and fitted to minimise air leakage and maximise energy efficiency. - Improved ventilation (Part F) –
Ensuring homes have sufficient airflow to maintain good indoor air quality while improving insulation.
